Sorry about not posting my name here :3
I know totally what you are on about!
I was anorexic, the trigger was indeed not the wanting to be like the fit and famous, but another one, I wanted control over my life, it is kind of hard to explain in these short words I want to keep this.
Anyways, I hated being anorexic! Utterly and completely, it killed everything I had, and ever had have. My love for my family, boyfriend, art, fun, sports. It killed my imagination, my study efford, everything!

Now I eat healthily and do my sports and my imagination and creativity is all coming back and I love it!
If I lust and long for a chocolate, I eat it, I know I won't get fat by eating a little chocolate, because I eat overall healthy!
I only saw your blog yesterday, and maybe you will not even read this comment, but hey girl you have got it going on!

I just recently found your blog — you are too amazing. This is so inspirational; I want to become a normal eater, too! I want to love my body in any shape or size. Thank you for sharing your story and knowledge. =)

Marieke, I just looked through your pics on flicker and I have to tell you how amazingly beautiful you are and how fraking fantastic your style is. Very inspirational!!!!! You have a fashion doppelganger here in Florida! And Michelle, thank you for sharing your story. Everyday, every time, I read fat positive stories I am surprised with how much more I love my own body. Your words always touch me.

Your story somewhat mirrors my own. Well, except for the husband bit! I would also rather be fat than spend my life hating who I am and holding off on everything until I reach the magical "thin". I now know that I never would have been thin enough had I continued as I was. Thin enough would have ended up with me dead long before I got anywhere near it.

And you are beautiful, inside and out.

Everything you said totally resonates with me. I too, used to exercise 2-3 hrs a day and eat only 1200 cal. I lost a lot of weight but was never more unhappy with myself. Once I went back to school and could no longer maintain that 'lifestyle' i gained all the weight back and then some. But the kicker is - I've never felt better! Happier! and Confident! I feel healthier too. A few months ago, I started contributing to a flickr pool called Wardrobe Remix. Putting myself and my style 'out there' has helped to reinforce my view of myself as beautiful and normal. I no longer cringe when I see myself. I accept myself. It's the best gift I've ever given myself :)
